Perseverance: to persist in anything undertaken; maintain a purpose in spite of difficulty, obstacles, or discouragement; continue steadfastly.
If you have read our story, you know that our battle with infertility started 8 long years ago, and we have the mental, physical, and financial scars to prove it. It has been hard at times to understand why this is happening to us; why we can't seem to complete our family. At times, our faith has been shaken. Why would God not give us a chance? Despite our battle, we have never given up hope. We have persevered through it all. We want Hudson to have a sibling so badly that we will continue fighting for it, continue working for it, continue praying for it. We will make ourselves vulnerable by putting out a website, as we have done here. We are determined to win the war, and we will persevere.
On Monday morning, before we released our website on social media, we stood as a family in our kitchen and prayed. Knowing that we have tried everything we could up to this point and still not wanting to give up, we prayed that if it is God's will, that He help us to find the missing link to our family. We prayed for guidance on this journey and that He watch over us on this path we were about to take. I looked down at Hudson as we prayed and saw him standing there with his little eyes closed, totally focused on our prayer, wanting a sibling so badly to share his childhood with, and I knew that we were doing the right thing. Still, it was scary making ourselves vulnerable by putting our story out there. But, we are so glad that we did. If for no other reason than to share our story, so that others who have gone through it or are going through it now know that they are not alone. We were not expecting and are completely overwhelmed by the response our site has gotten. So many people, across the county, are sharing our site on social media and reaching out to help. It has meant the world to us, and we have found ourselves in tears more than a couple times the past few days at the gift of hope we have been given by others. We have been introduced to several new possibilities that we never would have known about if it wasn't for this site. It has taught us that most people are truly good and will help others in need if they are able. It has showed us that the people who give the most, often times are the ones who have the least to give. It has been amazing in so many ways, and we are so grateful.
We want to thank you all for taking the time to read our story, for sharing it, for your prayers of love and hope. It has truly blessed us in tremendous ways, and this is just the beginning. The best is yet to come! We would like to invite you to go on this journey with us, follow our story through our blogs and posts, and please continue to share. We also have a GoFundMe fundraiser at https://www.gofundme.com/a-sibling-for-hudson. Our dream of having a sibling for Hudson cannot be achieved without all of your help! If I could leave you with anything today it would be this, persevere. Persevere through hardship, persevere through failure, persevere through heartbreak. Don't give up on the things that mean the most to you. Sometimes the most important things in life are the things you have to fight the hardest for. The most important things in life are worth the fight!
Thank you all so very much!
